Missions |
|
River of Life Church belongs to a missionary sending movement of churches called the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
What that means for us is that missions are
very much at the heart of our church.
|
| We express our passion for missions in various ways.
One way is our financial support of the C&MA's international ministries,
through which we have sent some of our own members onto the mission field as
career missionaries; Chuck
and Robbi Fanberg, David
and Christine Manfred or Julie Toivola
are good examples of that.
|
|
|
As you can see another way
of growing our experience and knowledge of missions is by going on short-term
missions trips, like this one to Peru.
These trips have been both evangelistic
(drama, witnessing, preaching, and teaching)
and work oriented (construction).
|
|
We think the best time to
start experiencing missions is as a teen.
In the summer of 2003, our youth pastor (at that time), Chaz, took three of our teens to Key
West on a mission trip.

Julie Toivola, our former
Children's ministry director, has followed God's call to be a full-time missionary
in Cambodia with the C&MA.
Julie is a representative of our next generation
of missions; through ROL we have had a tradition of sending out missionaries.
That
is something we are proud of!
